Bellator 106: Five Closing Thoughts

The fall is a notoriously difficult time to have a major Saturday card due to the pull of College Football. Even the UFC seems to struggle during this time of the year no matter how well they stack their cards. Avoiding college football is something the promotion needs to remember in the future, which still leaves mid-late December for a later card and all of the Spring/Summer.

Another thing that needs to be addressed is the timing of the card in regards to Bellator's season format. Having the card in the middle of a season is simply unwise, as it takes away from the rest of the season and also does not do much to help build the card. Placing a PPV as a Season Finale would make a lot of sense and would allow the promotion to build over their season to their finale. This would allow them plenty of intriguing bouts to choose from to bolster the card around their more established fighters.
